   Position Summary

 Identify opportunities to expand the business, including through partnerships, mergers and new markets, Analyse sales, marketing, finance and other reports, Develop accurate and consistent bids, Maintain sustainable and productive relationships ,Manage daily operations, including employee training and development, contract negotiations and production planning,Assess risks involved with new initiatives

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for all commercial and contractual aspects of sales activities, from initial enquiry, through to settlement of final accounts, including the timely preparation of quotations, tenders and contracts, invoices, and dispute resolution.
  • Actively collaborates with the GM to consistently meet, or exceed principal / customer expectations, and ensure all costs and chargeable activities are communicated efficiently.
  • Provides leadership on sales and marketing strategy, developing new business leads, enhancing present partnerships, and exploiting existing strategic/market advantages.
  • Carry out commercial assessment of new liner services/projects, including providing commercial intelligence for service studies as requested by our principals
  • Provide solid market information and studies on the liner industry, other logistics businesses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

·         Development of financial plans including budgeting and forecasting for the short and long term

·       Analysing the business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing and cost of goods sold

·       Managing budgets, expenses and pricing and commercial arrangements

·       Lead role in advising around pricing for commercial contracts

·       Driving efficiencies to ensure contracts remain financially viable and delivered on budget

·       Partnering with business managers to drive financial performance

·       Supporting the Sales and Marketing department by conducting analysis of commercial opportunities

·       Preparing models to assess future profitability of identified opportunities

·       Supervising staff - often a Management or Divisional Accountant and reviewing work

·       Taking a lead role in solving commercial issues that may arise

 

 

  • Requirements
  • Any Bachelors Degree by recognized university
  • Preferable from India/Pakistan, others may also be considered
  • Should have Professional Shipping Qualifications / Professional Membership
  • Should have 7+ years experience in UAE
  • Will have a strong sales & marketing background in the broader shipping industry (Liner/NVO/Logistics)

  • Experience in successfully selling shipping related services and managing client relationships at a senior level

  • Strong Sales and CRM skills with ability to sell a wide range of services & products appropriately

  • bility to work with a range of principals, business units and internal managers

  • Ability to understand and service a wide spectrum of customer needs in the shipping sector

  • Focus on driving results and continuous improvement

  • Must have excellent communication skills in English – other languages will be an advantage.
