Position Summary
This position is responsible for filling and packaging processed products, making them ready for shipment. The prime responsibility is to ensure that process runs seamlessly with minimum glitches. This position ensures that the Dairy/Juice/Long-life products are packaged hygienically to ensure the products are complying with food safety regulations and internal quality standards. The key indicators are machine hygiene and sanitation, Personal hygiene, and sanitation to achieve the desired best products to the end-users (customers).
Key Responsibilities
• This function is a part of the packaging process but needs to be closely aligned with the production
• Pack product as per specific requirement governed by product sub-category i.e. in HDPE, PET bottles or cup, tub, gable tops, or pillows
• Ensuring that the cap threads are aligned with those of the body of the container to prevent leakage and consequent spoilage of the product
• Monitor capping performance during production runs and adjusting equipment where necessary
• Torque adjustment to ensure a proper seal
• Ensure proper sealing of pillows to avoid dripping/spoilage
• Shrink wrap products for lasting shelf life
• Bagging is done to create optimum size lots to facilitate transportation
• Printing and attaching labels is an important requirement for the traceability of products
• Ensure hygiene standards are maintained through the filling and packaging process including disposal of waste as per prescribed guidelines
• Ensure that all local environmental requirements are duly adhered to
• Knowledge of and adherence to regional council compliance requirements
• Understand and ensure meeting the obligations of health and safety requirements of employment legislation.
• Identify and contain/minimize product defects like leakages and bloating in packed containers
• Effective communication within and outside the team
• Create a supportive environment for the team members
• Contribute to the team, letting others know information that may be useful or important
• Motivate the team through staff rotation to allow exploring different operations within the plant.
• Ensure that no H&S-related issues in the filling and packing department.
• Full fill the daily plan achievement (target 98% minimum)
• Effective utilization of machinery and manpower.
• Prepare Daily Production reports and capture all production activities including Machine breakdown, quality issues...etc and report to the management on time.
• Produce end-of-month departmental report, on time, and as required by the management.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date, daily, weekly, monthly records as required by the management.
• Ensure tasks are understood by the team members and performed responsibly and diligently
• Help others in the team if needed; Support relief staff in their duties
Requirements
· Degree/ Diploma in Dairy Technology / Food Technology.
· Degree/ Diploma in Packaging in HDPE/HDPE bottles, Cup molding.
· Engineering Degree/ Diploma in Packaging Technology is an added value
· Post Graduate / Additional Certifications in Dairy or Food Technology will be an added advantage.
· The overall experience of 5 years or more in supervising filling and packaging operations in an FMCG company.
· Experience in overseeing the manufacturing of dairy products, Dairy/Juice/Long life products.
· Expert in Tetra Pak 19, 22, aseptic, Gable top fillers, Tetra Top fillers, Gasti pot fillers, Bottles Fillers, Tetra Flex Process aseptic, APV tube Processing, Tetra Drink, APV Juice, PMO pasteurizers, CIP systems
· Experience with GMP, Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Employment Standards regulatory requirements
· • Established credentials in packaging planning and ability to deal with operational challenges in a production environment.
· NOC / Local release in Oman (preferred).
