Position Summary
Installing, Supervising, guiding staff, Maintenance, Troubleshooting technical problems, ensuring network security, and collaborating with various departments of the company. Resolving post-sales technical customer Service requests via electronic and phone means, as well as, technical questions regarding the use of and troubleshooting of Solaris Operating System product.
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery
· Performance tuning with proven knowledge of the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with Solaris Operating system
· Install and maintain all Solaris server hardware and software systems and administer all server’s performance, utilization and ensure availability for same prepare program-level, user-level documentation on as-needed-basis
· Maintenance and repair of power systems including hardware and operating system software support
· Maintain interface to customers for the coordination of hardware and software support and delivery of technical services
· To review Backup reports and initial actions on backup failure against specific documentation
· Implement changes, perform security related tasks, identify and improvements to existing processes and procedures
· Craft a service performance, usage report and respond to issue requests
· Handle first-level incident/ problem determination and resolution on a 24*7 basis
· Service incidents and queries within the agreed service levels
· Timely escalation of incidents to higher levels when it required and log file monitoring for errors
· Perform daily, weekly, monthly proactive housekeeping and monitoring activities
· Vendor coordination, perform basic service requested based on standard operating procedures. Follow quality / security process defined for the engagement
Requirements
· BE/B. Tech/Computer Science/Computer Application.
· Minimum 3+ years’ experience in solaris server administration
· Experience in UNIX Environment – solaris v6.0, v7.0, v7.5
· Expertise in installation, configuration and upgradation, patching, administration and storage implementation
· Ability to articulate standard methodologies for during implementation
· Proficient in risk-based systems running on UNIX/ Solaris platforms
· Solid understanding in NFS configuration administration thorough understanding of the technology stack operating systems, middleware, storage systems, applications, networking and security and architecture
