Position Summary
A warehouse logistics manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the storage procedure of an organization by performing duties that range from complicated storage logistics to keeping an eye on the warehouse workers; scheduling shifts and ensuring that staff members are adequately trained.
A warehouse logistics manager is responsible for the detailed planning, organization, management, and implementation of complex operations that are related to warehousing.
Key Responsibilities
· Tactically manage warehouses in compliance with Supply Chain SOP’s, company policies, and legal requirements.
· Oversee warehouse and distribution operations to meet SLA and cost targets. Work closely with the management of Sales, Planning, and BU’s to ensure continuous stock & accurate stock flow from the designated warehouse.
· Monitor efficiency of warehousing and distribution operations using productivity and financial KPIs.
· Recommend operational process change to improve business efficiency and Customer Service. •
· Lead implementation of Continuous Improvement Plan for the designated warehouses.
· Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal policies & procedures. Lead by example about compliance.
· Ensure effective communication flow between warehouses and BU’s, Planning, Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance & HR.
· Responsible for ensuring that inventory controls are managed, to meet targets on Inventory Accuracy, Stock Freshness, Stock availability, Slow-moving/Near expiry products.
· Cost control on Supply Chain cost: monitor variable and fixed costs in line with allocated budget by the warehouse.
· Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization as per business requirements.
· Prepare for his designated warehouses monthly, quarterly, and annually reports, including Actual vs. Budget performance.
· Inventory Plan: monitor the level of inventory based on the classification of SKUs, inventory norms, supply constraints, and space utilization.
· Fleet Management: monitor fleet operations according to the workload and maintenance plan to ensure that goods are consistently delivered on time as per Business Channel SLA.
· Develop optimal delivery routes and improve fleet productivity using GPS tracking and truck utilization. Monitor the use of hired trucks based on own fleet utilization and cost impact against Sales value.
· Manpower Management: leading a team of around 200 staff (including hired labors) by identifying needs and providing relevant training to drive efficient production &
· Work performance across warehouses. Motivate, guide, coach, and empower team members to achieve and perform effectively as a team.
· Develop & maintain clear internal & external communication channels. Ensure team briefings take place on a daily/weekly basis in designated warehouses to ensure all information is properly cascaded to the team.
· Provide accurate reports and support to internal and external contacts.
· Responsible for ensuring that all hygiene and H&S guidelines are strictly applied in warehouses.
· Maintain a high level of security in designated warehouses.
· Participate in the Annual Operating Plan.
· Contribute to the recruitment process and ensure induction and motivation of the team is happening in his designated warehouses.
· Maintain relationships with 3rd party partners to ensure service continuity and improvement on cost control.
Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, Transportation, Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
· Additional Degree / Certifications in the relevant field will be added advantage.
· 10+ years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations with an FMCG industry.
· Firm grasp of the supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles.
· Record of successful distribution and logistics management, Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
· Proficient in standard logistics software, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
· Knowledge of Arabic would be an added advantage.
