Position Summary
inspecting utility infrastructure and reporting any deficiencies, auditing utility services and ensuring current standards are complied with, and updating and maintaining the utility information database. As a utility technician, you are responsible for coordinating projects and communicating results of finished projects, performing preventive maintenance, and diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment and system malfunctions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain numerous automate scripts to assist in managing Linux systems.
- Travel during require new PC deployments.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Design solutions to eliminate note reoccurring issues for customer PC concerns.
- Remodel facility HVAC, domestic and chill water, fire suppression systems as required.
- Use of spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes and other associate RF test equipment.
- Process includes both mechanical and electronic integration-programming of settings, PLC linking power settings, etc.
- Replace or repair windows, doors, emergency exits, floors and seats on buses and vehicles.
- Maintain and monitor critical production systems such as the PLC control main air compressor using ladder logic programming.
- Fabricate and repair vehicle and equipment parts using the oxyacetylene, AC/DC arc and wire feed (MIG) processes.
- Learn to calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Complete DCS computer monitoring, personal computer training and programming.
- Operate satellite transfer facility to transport cooling water to power facility.
- Provide technical assistance to all departments for a sugar and ethanol production facility.
- Perform maintenance and paint necessary emergency walkway areas around the distribution center and structures as needed.
- Resolve multiple emergency situations in timely manner without injury to public or team members and protect company assets.
- Develop communication and efficiency capabilities.
- Load cafeteria trays/silverware/cookware into commercial dishwasher.
- Maintain all WIKI and technical documentation of NOC processes and procedures.
- Perform daily maintenance on equipment including the locomotive, bobcat, loader, various drags and screws.
- Maintain decommission parts for records of FAA.
- Maintain the fields for all outdoor sports - baseball, softball, soccer, rugby, and lacrosse.
- Establish productive working relationships with virtually every specialty NOC and vendor.
- Empty CNC shavings bin into large roll off shavings bin.
- Maintain baseball and soccer fields including: mowing, grooming, and fertilizing.
- Maintain and service CNC lathes and drill presses, including basic operation malfunctions.
- Cut the soccer fields and commons area, paint, stripe fields and clean offices and bathrooms
- Interpret and implement FAA advisory circulars to maintain accurate and current specifications.
- Ice water Cooling system (Packo) for cooling down the milk and maintain ice wate
- Develop communication and efficiency capabilities.
· Maintaining r temperature in Ice Bank Tank.
· Ensuring continued supply of chilled water for HVAC system.
· Using Propylene Glycol as a food grade antifreeze mixed with water to operate chillers
· Using Ammonia based cooling systems to cool milk/juices during pasteurization
· Ensuring continuous circulation of water to ensure that the chillers work properly
· Troubleshoot and repair HVAC units including electronic and mechanical components
· Diagnose electronic, electro-mechanical, electrical, and mechanical malfunctions in chillers
· Read meters and gauges and records data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumption, and temperature and analysis of fuel gases relays, coils, heating and condensate piping, controls, valves, compressors, fans, dampers, vents, blowers, pumps, burners, gauges, and traps
· Inspect, maintain, repair and modify hot water, high and low-pressure steam, and direct gas-fired heating, chilled water and direct expansion refrigeration and air conditioning, and ventilating systems, equipment, and controls, including pilots
· Calibrate and adjust thermostats, valves, and controls to specified levels of operation
· Maintain heating and air conditioning hand and power tools and equipment to ensure their safe and efficient operation
· Repairs and maintains testing equipment and instruments
· Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards
Requirements
· Technical school graduation
· Plumber's license or equivalent technical training
· 4 years’ experience as a journeyman, plumber, pipefitter, or mechanic, experience of 3 years as a boiler operator; Experience in dairy plant, industrial and/or commercial establishment will be a plus
· Knowledge of heating systems, boiler and other related power equipment, boiler chemistry and water testing procedures, and boiler codes and safety standards
· Diploma in Refrigeration technology/ 2-year technical program
· Diploma in HVAC and Refrigeration
· organization in the proper handling of chemical refrigerants
· Proven experience of 3-5 years as a refrigeration/cooling technician; Experience in dairy plant, industrial and/or commercial establishment will be a plus
· Knowledge of Chillers, cooling towers and VRV’s
· Understanding the operations of commercial and residential refrigeration systems
· Reading blueprints and electrical and electronic schematics
· Grasping electrical and plumbing concepts
· Operating tools, gauges and other testing equipment for refrigeration systems
