Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Procurement Engineer to join our team. The Procurement Engineer will play a vital role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, equipment, and services required for various projects. The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Relationship Management:

Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers, vendors, and contractors to meet project requirements.

Develop and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions for contracts and purchases.

Procurement Planning:

Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project needs and timelines.

Develop procurement strategies, considering factors such as cost, quality, availability, and delivery schedules.

Material Sourcing:

Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.

Identify alternative materials and suppliers to optimize costs and ensure timely procurement.

Bid Analysis and Negotiation:

Analyze bids, quotations, and proposals from suppliers, evaluating technical and commercial aspects.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve the best value for the organization.

Budget and Cost Control:

Collaborate with the finance team to establish procurement budgets and monitor expenditures.

Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality and project requirements.

Supplier Performance Evaluation:

Monitor supplier performance, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, or contractual obligations.

Conduct periodic evaluations to ensure consistent supplier performance.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, purchase orders, and related documentation.

Provide regular reports to management on procurement status, costs, and supplier performance.

Technical Expertise:

Possess a strong technical understanding of the products and services being procured to ensure compatibility with project requirements.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).

·         Prior experience in structural engineering,civil, oil and gas industry is a plus

·         Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer, preferably in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.

·         Solid understanding of procurement principles, supply chain management, and negotiation techniques.

·         Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

·         Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

·         Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards.

·         Membership or affiliation with relevant procurement organizations is a plus.
