Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Draughtsman with a strong background in architectural and engineering drafting. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in producing accurate and comprehensive technical drawings for civil and MEP systems. This role will play a crucial part in translating design concepts into detailed plans that contribute to the successful execution of construction and engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design:
Create detailed architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to accurately translate design concepts and specifications into technical drawings.
Technical Expertise:
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of civil and MEP design principles, codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Ensure that drawings are compliant with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil and MEP elements seamlessly into overall project designs.
Communicate effectively with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to address design and coordination issues.
Accuracy and Quality:
Produce accurate and well-organized drawings that clearly convey design intent and technical details.
Review and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback, changes, and project updates.
Document Management
Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing files, ensuring easy accessibility and retrieval of information for project teams.
Assist in the preparation and assembly of project documentation, including plans, sections, elevations, and schedules.
Problem-Solving:
Identify potential design conflicts or discrepancies and propose solutions to ensure smooth construction processes.
Collaborate with the team to address technical challenges and optimize design efficiency.
Technology and Software:
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in drafting software, technologies, and tools.
Utilize software proficiency to streamline drafting processes and enhance the quality of drawings.
Qualifications:
· Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil and MEP Draftsman.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software.
· Strong understanding of civil and MEP design principles, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects.
· Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
· Effective communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
· Problem-solving abilities to address design challenges and conflicts.
· Time management skills to meet project deadlines.
· Additional experience in BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.
