Description:
Purpose of Position:
1. Ensure achievement of sales targets for Parts and Paints business and manage as a
profit center.
2. Ensure achievement of profitability targets.
3. Ensure availability of required parts for service function.
4. Ensure effective control of inventory.
5. Ensure Warehouse Stock management system.
6. Ensure Parts Exports business expansion.
Major Roles:
1. Put in place proper inventory processes; establish procedures, policies and
systems.
2. Assess potential of parts and paints business. Draw budgets to maximize sales and profitability.
3. Draw up list of alternate suppliers and negotiate rates to ensure profitability as
envisaged to tide over urgent & emergency requirements of stock out parts especially for service.
4. Determine and develop an effective inventory plan and strategy.
5. Draw up sales strategies to enhance the sales and growth of the business including diversification and addition of portfolios.
6. Guide and motivate staff to ensure proper performance.
7. Work towards achieving silver and gold award for parts excellence
8. Develop export sales and ensure volumes, profits and growth.
9. Assist and guide the branches in furthering the parts and paints business.
Major Responsibilities:
1. On a continuous basis take stock and assess fast moving, to non-moving items in
the continuum and plan to stock appropriate quantities of items required and
minimize stock of non-moving items. Develop a purchase and ordering policy.
2. Develop storage systems, stores procedures and policies.
3. Put in place a mechanism to continuously monitor inventory and enable
placement of orders of items required on time. Put in place a inventory control
system.
4. Strategize procurement of urgent and emergency non- stock parts to ensure
availability within the time frame.
5. Develop, plan and implement sales and promotion strategies to increase
customer base for achieving targets and growth of business.
6. Scan the market for addition of fast moving and profitable product ranges and
portfolios.
7. Handle and manage all staff related issues. Periodically hold departmental
meetings to understand the small needs of employees and take corrective actions.
Ensure high morale of staff always.
8. On a continuous basis train and develop staff.
9. Develop strategies to maintain good relationship with the customers and handle
complaints.
10. Visit export and local customers, establish sound rapport and draw up strategies
to maintain good relationships with them.
11. Assist the Branch Managers in improving parts and paints sales.
12. Liquidate non-moving parts and salvage reasonable price.
13. Maintain the stores and inventory and devise methodologies to prevent
pilferages and thefts.
14. Put in place housekeeping and safety procedures to ensure safe and attractive
working environment
15. Establish and maintain good working relations with other departments especially
service to reduce conflict and maximize profitability.
16. Ensure implementation of IT efforts in the department / function.
