Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Cost Engineer with a background in Civil Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in water pipeline projects and civil construction. The Cost Engineer will play a crucial role in project cost management, analysis, and control to ensure the successful execution of our infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
· Cost Estimation:Develop accurate cost estimates for water pipeline and civil construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather essential project information for cost estimation.
· Budgeting: Assist in the development of project budgets, providing insights into cost drivers and potential risks. Work closely with project teams to ensure budget adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
· Cost Control: Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying and addressing deviations from the budget. Implement effective cost control measures to optimize project financial performance.
· Analysis and Reporting: Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making processes.Prepare regular reports on project cost performance, highlighting key metrics and trends.
· Vendor and Supplier Negotiation: Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable contracts with vendors and suppliers. Evaluate supplier proposals and ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
· Change Order Management: Evaluate and process change orders, assessing their impact on project costs and timelines. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all project-related costs and changes.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering with a focus on water pipeline projects and civil construction.
· Strong proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control methodologies.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
