Description:

As a Solids Control Operator, the main objectives are to efficiently remove undesired solids from drilling mud, operate and maintain solids control equipment, optimize solids control processes, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. To undertake and fulfil the tasks listed under descriptions of duties and responsibility in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This function may also be assigned specialized tasks as delegated by the Country Manager. Ensure full implementation of all Company Management Systems within his area of responsibility.

Job Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:
• Operate and maintain solids control equipment, including but not limited to:
o Shale Shakers: Used to separate drilling cuttings from drilling fluid.
o Shaker Screens: Essential components of shale shakers that filter and classify drilling cuttings.
o Desanders & Desilters (Hydrocyclones): Remove finer particles from the drilling mud.
o Centrifuges: Centrifugally separate solids from the drilling fluid.
o Mud Cleaner: Combines desanders, desilters, and a shale shaker for efficient solids removal.
o Mud Coolers: Regulate the temperature of drilling mud to prevent overheating and maintain viscosity.
o Feed Pumps: Ensure a continuous flow of drilling mud through the solids control system.
o Filtration Equipment: Employed to further remove fine solids and improve drilling fluid quality.
• Reporting: Complete required reports and maintain logs.
• Communication: Coordinate with Supervisors, Drilling Fluids engineer and Client representatives to optimize solids control processes.
• Installation: Install and remove solids control equipment as needed.
• Performance: Monitor and control equipment performance to ensure efficient drilling operations.
• Safely handle drilling fluids and manage waste disposal.
• Build and Assemble: Construct and put together mechanical components as per requirements across all projects.
• Inspection and Diagnostics: conduct inspection across all equipment and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues of all receiving equipment and maintaining records of the same.
• Conduct Repairs: Perform repairs aiming for maximum reliability and troubleshoot reported problems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment to avoid future breakdowns.
• Reactive/ADHOC Maintenance: Address and perform emergency repairs as needed at remote locations.
• Training: Provide training on the troubleshooting and operating of the equipment to Team members as and when required/scheduled.
• Specialized Tasks: The company retains the authority to allocate specialized tasks either within the respective department's expertise or across other departments and has the discretion to transfer and delegate responsibilities to other departments and locations within the organization.

Requirements for this role include:

• Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineers
• Proven experience as a mechanic with knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to use all tools and equipment and diagnose mechanical problems.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving ability and a strong commitment to health and safety guidelines.
• Communication: Very good communication skills to effectively report any anomaly and consult with the superiors and team members.
• Knowledge: Working knowledge of solids control processes.
