Description:
The Mechanical Fitter/Technician in our workshop is expected to provide us with thorough and detailed inspection of our clients’ equipment assets. Fault find and troubleshoot any equipment issues which may arise. Provide us with professional oversight and diagnosis of any operational problems reported or discovered on the equipment & plant items, for example, industrial centrifuges, decanters, disc stack units, shale shakers, and all types of cuttings handling processing and treatment equipment. All types of pumps, solids control & DWM equipment.

JOB Responsibilities
• Perform all given tasks in a safe and professional manner to the level expected of the Companies HSE management system.
• Actively contribute to the companies HSE management tracking system.
• To troubleshoot, isolate, identify and repair any mechanical problems on-site or in the workshop that require repair or replacement.
• Efficient disassembly/reassembly in line with productivity improvements and capacity planning (achieve the required efficiency and utilization standards for production – performance/assembly to build times)
• Support, lead, train and mentor others (including apprentices)
• Contribute towards the teams working culture by being a friendly, approachable and helpful member of the overall workshop team.
• Carry out all engineering tasks to industry standards using the correct tools for each task assigned.
• Record all tasks performed within the company’s work order management system, including all time spent on any given task and all parts used in the repair.
• Submit all required work-related documentation both on-time and in a clear eligible manner.
• Inspect, record, accurately report on, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure they are always in safe and proper working order.
• Test and observe equipment and machinery using tools such as electrometers, micrometers, dial gauges and other testing devices to diagnose malfunctions and make repairs as needed.
• Record all maintenance and repair services performed and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process.
• Communicate effectively with the team to ensure adequate levels of parts are ordered to replenish materials and parts as the inventory is used up.
• Study manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follow directions when operating or setting up newly acquired machinery.
• To assist, introduce and provide feedback in relation to new ideas, procedures or problems encountered offshore / on rig site / workshop.
• Ensure Workshop has adequate materials for routine maintenance and to coordinate with immediate supervisor in the office for the requisition of spare parts, materials and other matters related to operations.
• Report accurate inventory of all materials under your jurisdiction.
• Assist with field testing of new products and systems.
• Assist and perform rig surveys when required.
• To perform miscellaneous job-related as assigned by the Supervisor or Workshop Manager
• Assist with the documentation of work orders and field reports.
• Any other reasonable duties as and when required.
• Fault finding on mechanical equipment.
• Comply to safety standards/codes and ensure world class housekeeping.
• Identify all unsafe conditions and notify management.

Requirements
• Engineering Degree Level Education Preferred
• The position holder should possess at least five years of experience in the UAE/OMAN, specifically in a busy workshop setting. They must have a deep understanding of operating and repairing Oilfield Solids Control and Drilling Waste Management Equipment, ideally from various original equipment manufacturers.
• Demonstrate how to safely and professionally perform inspection and repair on high speed rotating equipment.
• Flawless written and spoken English communication skills, coupled with exceptional organizational and time management abilities, are essential requirements.
• This position holder must be able to prioritize tasks, maintain a high degree of electrical engineering accuracy in an industrial setting, and demonstrate effective problem-solving capabilities.
