Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant / Accounts Executive to join our leading car rental group in Oman. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of accounting experience within the car rental industry and will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Transactions: Record and process daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Invoicing and Payments: Prepare and issue invoices, process customer payments, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring actual performance against projections.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and accounting standards, preparing and submitting tax returns and other regulatory filings as required.
• Auditing: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Cost Control: Monitor and control operational costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Customer Account Management: Manage customer accounts, resolving any billing or payment issues promptly and professionally.
• Software Utilization: Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and operations, to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective business operations.
Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in the car rental industry.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Integrity: High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial reporting.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
