We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Oman. The Junior Accountant will assist with the preparation of financial statements, maintain financial records, and perform general accounting duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Record Keeping: aintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices. Process daily transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, and ensure they are recorded correctly.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and financial records to ensure accuracy. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings by reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries for review by senior accountants. Prepare and submit regular financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits. Gather and organize relevant financial documentation and records for auditors.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings. General Accounting Duties: Perform general bookkeeping duties, including maintaining petty cash accounts and handling payroll. Assist with budget preparation and forecasting activities.
• Data Management: Enter financial data into accounting software accurately and efficiently. Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and transactions.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed. Assist in special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related role is preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus).
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
• Integrity: High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
