Description:

The Deputy Manager - Customs / Supply Chain (Automotive Parts) will be responsible for managing all customs-related activities and optimizing supply chain processes specifically for automotive parts. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient import and export operations, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and ensuring that automotive parts are available as needed to support the business.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Customs Management: Ensure compliance with customs regulations and procedures for the import and export of automotive parts. Handle all documentation related to customs clearance, including the preparation and submission of necessary paperwork for automotive components. Liaise with customs authorities to resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process for automotive parts.Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and assess their impact on the import/export of automotive parts.

·         Supply Chain Optimization: Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of automotive parts. Monitor and manage inventory levels of automotive parts to prevent shortages or excess stock. Implement and maintain efficient supply chain practices to minimize costs and improve lead times for automotive parts. Analyze and optimize logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution specifically for automotive parts.

·         Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, logistics providers, and other supply chain partners involved in the movement of automotive parts. Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, sales, and operations to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with business goals related to automotive parts. Provide regular updates to senior management on customs and supply chain activities, including potential risks or challenges in the automotive parts supply chain.

·         Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to customs clearance and the supply chain of automotive parts. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations to avoid penalties and delays in the automotive parts supply chain. Develop contingency plans for potential disruptions in the supply chain of automotive parts.

·         Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of customs and supply chain professionals specializing in automotive parts. Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in customs and supply chain management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.

·         Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in customs clearance and supply chain management, with a focus on automotive parts.

·         Strong understanding of Omani and international customs regulations and procedures related to automotive components.

·         Experience in managing relationships with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies.

·         Proven track record in optimizing supply chain processes and reducing costs within the automotive parts sector.

·         Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

·         Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.

·         Master’s degree in a related field.

·         Professional certification in customs, supply chain management, or logistics (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).

·         Experience working in the GCC region, particularly in Oman.

·         Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex customs and supply chain data to make informed decisions specifically for automotive parts.

·         Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in customs documentation and supply chain processes related to automotive components.

·         Problem-Solving: Proactively addressing and resolving issues that may impact the supply chain or customs clearance of automotive parts.
