Description:
The Executive - Customs / Supply Chain (Automotive Parts) will be responsible for managing daily customs operations and supporting the supply chain activities for automotive parts. The role involves ensuring compliance with customs regulations, efficient handling of import/export documentation, and coordinating logistics to ensure the timely delivery of automotive components.
Key Responsibilities:
· Customs Operations: Prepare and submit all necessary documentation for customs clearance of automotive parts. Ensure compliance with Omani and international customs regulations related to automotive components. Coordinate with customs authorities and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth import/export processes. Maintain accurate records of all customs-related activities and documentation.
· Supply Chain Support: Assist in coordinating the supply chain processes, including inventory management, transportation, and warehousing of automotive parts. Monitor the status of shipments and coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of parts. Support the supply chain team in optimizing processes to reduce lead times and costs associated with the movement of automotive parts. Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, sales, and operations to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
· Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all customs operations comply with relevant regulations to avoid penalties and delays. Identify and report any potential risks in the customs and supply chain processes. Assist in developing and implementing contingency plans for disruptions in the supply chain of automotive parts.
· Reporting and Documentation: Generate regular reports on customs activities and supply chain performance. Maintain up-to-date records of all customs documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading. Provide support in audits and inspections by customs authorities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs operations and supply chain management, preferably in the automotive parts industry.
· Knowledge of Omani and international customs regulations and procedures.
· Experience with customs documentation and working with customs authorities.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and supply chain management software.
· Certification in customs, supply chain management, or logistics.
· Experience in the GCC region, particularly in Oman.
· Familiarity with automotive parts and components.
· Detail-Oriented: Ensuring accuracy in customs documentation and supply chain processes.
· Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues related to customs clearance and logistics.
· Communication: Strong ability to interact with customs authorities, logistics providers, and internal teams.
