The Senior Manager - Credits will be responsible for overseeing the credit function, ensuring effective risk management, and maintaining the quality of the credit portfolio. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive credit policies, evaluate financial risks, and support the organization in achieving its business goals while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Credit Policy Development: Develop and implement robust credit policies and procedures. Ensure alignment with the company’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
• Credit Assessment and Approval: Evaluate and approve credit applications within the assigned authority limits. Review and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and market data to assess creditworthiness.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio to identify and mitigate risks. Ensure timely reviews and renewals of credit facilities.
• Risk Management: Implement measures to minimize default risks and ensure compliance with risk management frameworks. Provide recommendations for managing non-performing loans and recovery strategies.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the credit team to ensure high performance and professional growth. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team’s analytical and operational capabilities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with sales, finance, and operations teams to facilitate seamless credit processes. Build and maintain relationships with clients, banks, and financial institutions.
• Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and present regular reports on credit performance, risk metrics, and portfolio health to senior management. Use data-driven insights to refine credit strategies and improve decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience in credit management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in managing large credit portfolios and implementing credit risk frameworks.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Proficiency in credit assessment tools and ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
