Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in the hospitality sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly within the hotel and resort industry. The role involves managing financial records, handling daily transactions, and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including VAT or other relevant tax filings in the GCC region.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis to support business decisions.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit periods, ensuring smooth and efficient audit processes.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor inventory and control costs related to supplies, services, and operations.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide insights for improving profitability and cost-efficiency.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records and reports in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Inter CA or Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the hotel, resort, or hospitality sector.
- Experience in Oman or other GCC countries is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with hotel accounting software (e.g., Opera, Sun Systems, or similar).
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of VAT and other regional tax regulations is essential.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Multitasking abilities and effective time management.
