Description:
The Finance Controller will oversee the financial operations of the business group, ensuring sound financial management, accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, along with a minimum of 15 years of experience, including leadership roles. This is a key position that requires both technical expertise and strong managerial capabilities to drive the financial success of the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and local regulations.
- Prepare detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis and financial forecasts, to support strategic decision-making.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of financial reports submitted to senior management and stakeholders.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working with various departments to create accurate and comprehensive budgets.
- Continuously monitor actual financial performance against the budget and provide recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.
- Implement financial forecasting models to predict future financial outcomes and identify risks or opportunities.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:
- Oversee cash flow management to ensure the business group maintains sufficient liquidity for operations and investments.
- Review and manage working capital, ensuring optimal inventory and receivables management.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Develop and implement internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard the group’s assets and financial integrity.
- Identify and assess financial risks, recommending strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, taxation laws, and international accounting standards.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership to support long-term business growth and profitability.
- Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and investment planning, providing financial due diligence and post-merger integration support.
- Ensure financial alignment with the overall strategic goals of the business group.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team to enhance their performance and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture within the finance department.
- External Relations & Compliance:
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and manage audits effectively.
- Coordinate the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings.
- Review and negotiate contracts to ensure financial compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Cost Control & Profitability Analysis:
- Implement cost control measures to enhance profitability across business units.
- Review and evaluate financial performance across the group’s divisions to identify opportunities for improving margins and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- A relevant post-graduate qualification in finance, accounting, or business management is a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 15 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior finance leadership position.
- Prior experience in managing the finance function for a large and diversified business group or multi-national corporation.
- Experience in working with both international and local financial regulations and standards, particularly in Oman/GCC.

- Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
