Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Financial Controller with a strong finance background, ideally as a Chartered Accountant, to manage the company’s financial operations and business activities. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of financial management, reporting, and strategic planning, with the ability to drive financial performance and business growth in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight and Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial reports, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and in compliance with regulations.
    • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to ensure optimal resource allocation and financial health.
    • Analyze financial data, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, to identify trends and provide recommendations to the GMD.
  • Cash Flow and Financial Risk Management:
    • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability and meet business operational needs.
    • Implement financial controls and risk management strategies to safeguard company assets and optimize financial performance.
    • Assess potential financial risks related to investments, projects, and business decisions, providing recommendations for mitigation.
  • Business Planning and Strategic Support:
    • Collaborate with the GMD to create financial models and strategic business plans, ensuring alignment with company goals.
    • Conduct financial analysis to assess new business opportunities, including market assessments, investment appraisals, and financial viability studies.
    • Support the GMD with pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and other financial decisions related to business growth.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Develop and enforce internal financial controls, processes, and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
    • Manage the company's financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
    • Ensure the company’s financial practices align with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Financial Communication:
    • Prepare high-level financial reports and presentations for the GMD, board members, and stakeholders.
    • Clearly communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in a finance-related role, with significant experience in financial control, reporting, and analysis. Previous experience as a Financial Controller or similar role is highly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and reporting.
    • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
      • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple financial priorities effectively.
