Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Denter to join our Heavy Equipment Service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing and rebuilding vehicle body panels, frames, and other structures, ensuring that all work meets the highest quality standards. The role also involves chassis and body repairs, fabrication, equipment installation, and the use of specialized tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Rebuild, repair, align body panels, frames, prepare surface for painting, welding, steel fabrication, equipment/ attachment mounting, modifications and other body related jobs on the vehicle as per the repair order.
• Carry out chassis and body repairs using repair benches and panel pulling equipment, and to use specialized equipment such as induction heaters, dent pullers, spot welders & Mig welders.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, glass, seats, operating equipment, trims etc. to prepare vehicle for denting work.
• Beat surface to straighten dents & bends, repair damaged fenders, panels, grills, bolts, fix replacement parts or repaired parts, on the vehicle.
• Fill depression with body filler, file grinds, sand repaired surface of the vehicle.
• Fabricate steel structures & accessories as required.
• Carry out the fabrication work necessary to mount/ install equipment/ superstructure on vehicles & equipment (Cranes, dump bodies, water tanks etc..) and assist the technicians in the installation.
• Ensure that work carried out is to the highest quality and standards.
• Follow instructions given by the Workshop Supervisor to correct procedures and complete the job in the given time frame.
• Provide a job status report to the Workshop Supervisor as and when required.
• Assist the Workshop Supervisor in preparation of parts & job estimate in time.
• Ensure the proper use and upkeep of specialized crash repair bench and equipment such as chassis bench, pulling machines, dent pulling machines, induction heater, spot welders, MIG welder and accessories.
• Perform complicated reconstruction jobs to take on major damage jobs.
• Ensure the security of staff, company’s and customer’s property while carrying out assigned jobs.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the premises and proper utilization of tools and consumables.
• Have custody of the special tools assigned and ensure safekeeping and proper care of the same.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by Superiors, as required.
Required Qualifications
• High school certificate with 10 - 12 years’ experience in denting, electric arc gas welding & cutting
• Basic knowledge of job safety
• Knowledge of proper use of tools and equipment, including special tools
• Knowledge of Chassis bench repair equipment and specialized welding equipment.
• Basic reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend repair orders and put in writing the necessary additional jobs
• Knowledge of basic products (vehicles and services)
