Description:
We are looking for a performance-driven and strategic Deputy HOD – Sales (Trucks & Buses) to support the leadership and growth of our commercial vehicle division. This role involves managing key accounts, leading a sales team, executing volume-driven strategies, and collaborating closely with OEMs and fleet clients to ensure continued growth and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist the HOD in developing and executing the sales strategy for trucks and buses, aligned with overall business objectives.
· Lead a team of sales managers and executives to achieve volume, revenue, and margin targets across retail and fleet channels.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers including fleet operators, construction companies, government entities, and transport firms.
· Collaborate with OEMs on product launches, technical training, pricing, and bulk order coordination.
· Manage large-scale tender processes and frame agreements with corporate and government clients.
· Ensure smooth coordination with logistics, service, and body builders for timely delivery and customization of commercial vehicles.
· Monitor competitor activity, market demand trends, and customer preferences to adjust strategies.
· Oversee pricing strategies, financing/leasing solutions, and trade-in management.
· Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market analysis to senior leadership.
· Drive customer satisfaction and repeat business through superior service standards and aftersales coordination.
· Mentor, train, and develop the sales team to boost productivity and ensure professional growth.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Automotive Engineering, or related field; MBA is an added advantage.
· 15–20 years of experience in truck and bus sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership or deputy-level position.
· Strong track record in managing high-volume sales and long-cycle B2B deals.
· In-depth understanding of commercial vehicle applications, fleet operations, and aftersales dependencies.
· Proficiency in managing tenders, contracts, leasing arrangements, and key account portfolios.
· Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
· Familiarity with CRM systems and dealership management tools (DMS).
· Experience with heavy-duty and light commercial vehicle brands.
· Technical knowledge of truck/bus configurations, chassis applications, and customization.
· Exposure to regional/GCC commercial vehicle market is highly desirable.
· Strong financial acumen related to vehicle cost of ownership, ROI analysis, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
