Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics for heavy-duty equipment used in construction, mining, or material handling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance of heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, cranes, and forklifts.

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and manuals.

  • Repair or replace faulty parts such as transmissions, engines, hydraulic components, brakes, and electrical systems.

  • Conduct equipment overhauls, engine rebuilds, and component refurbishments as needed.

  • Maintain detailed service records, logs, and job cards for all maintenance and repair work performed.

  • Ensure all work complies with OEM standards, safety protocols, and operational procedures.

  • Coordinate with parts and service teams to ensure timely repairs and minimum equipment downtime.

  • Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs when necessary.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and workshop areas.

Requirements

  • ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Diesel Mechanics, or related technical field.

  • 3–7 years of experience working on heavy equipment or commercial vehicles.

  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical diagnostics.

  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

  • Physically fit and capable of working in field or workshop conditions.

  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or shifts if required.

  • Valid driver’s license (LMV or HMV is a plus).
