Position: Technical Trainer – Automotive
Department: Service / Training
Reporting to: Technical Training Manager / After Sales Manager
Location: Muscat, Oman]
Job Purpose:
To develop and deliver technical training programs for automotive technicians, service advisors, and other after-sales staff to ensure high standards of service quality, product knowledge, and diagnostic skills across the network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, prepare, and deliver training programs on vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures for dealership service staff.
- Conduct induction training for new technicians and refresher programs for existing employees.
- Assess technical competency levels of workshop staff and recommend suitable development plans.
- Support the implementation of OEM (Manufacturer) technical training standards and certification programs.
- Stay updated on the latest vehicle technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
- Coordinate with the Service and Warranty departments to identify recurring issues and include them in training content.
- Maintain training records, attendance, and post-training evaluation reports.
- Conduct on-the-job and in-dealership coaching to ensure skill application.
- Liaise with the OEM’s regional training teams for updates, materials, and technical bulletins.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 5–8 years in the automotive service field, including at least 2–3 years as a Technical Trainer or Senior Diagnostic Technician / Workshop Supervisor in a dealer/distributor environment.
- Industry: Automotive (Passenger Cars / Commercial Vehicles).
- OEM Experience (Preferred): Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Ford, Mercedes, BMW, etc.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Certifications (Preferred):
- OEM Trainer Certification (if previously trained by an OEM).
