Position Overview

The Procurement Manager will lead and manage all procurement activities for an oil and gas manufacturing setup specializing in pressure vessels, skids, storage tanks, mud tanks, heavy fabrication, rig/mobile camps, and trailer cabins. The role requires strong technical understanding, vendor management expertise, and proven leadership capabilities within the GCC or Omani oil & gas sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with project and organizational goals.
  • Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, fabrication items, engineering materials, and services required for manufacturing operations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers locally and internationally, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and terms to secure optimal value for the company.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, Production, QA/QC, and Project Management teams to ensure material specifications and timelines are met.
  • Monitor market trends, price movements, and supply risks relevant to oil & gas fabrication materials.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and industry standards.
  • Prepare and manage procurement budgets, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Mentor and supervise procurement team members, ensuring proactive and efficient operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sourcing, vendor performance, and cost reduction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of procurement experience in the oil & gas manufacturing sector, specifically in:
    • Pressure vessels
    • Skids
    • Storage tanks
    • Mud tanks
    • Heavy fabrication
    • Rig camps / mobile camps
    • Trailer cabins
  • Experience in Oman or other GCC markets is highly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in procurement leadership roles within fabrication or engineering environments.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proactive, responsible, and capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
  • Age below 45 years preferred.
