Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations with a strong focus on accounts payable, data entry, reconciliations, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders. The role supports accurate financial reporting, compliance with company policies, and smooth operational finance activities within an automotive business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Prepare payments to principals, local suppliers, and advance payments in a timely manner.
  • Review supplier invoices and other accounts payable–related documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile supplier statements on a regular basis and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare employee-related payments, including leave settlements and final settlements.
  • Ensure supplier invoices are properly booked in the system after verification of Purchase Orders (PO) and Goods Receipt Notes (GRN).

Data Entry & Accounting Records

  • Post and book invoices accurately to the correct general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly schedules for prepaid expenses and accrued expenses.
  • Create and maintain new vendor accounts in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile various expense schedules such as rent, telephone, electricity, and water.
  • Record and process petty cash reimbursement entries.

Coordination & Operational Support

  • Assist during physical stock verification exercises.
  • Coordinate with showroom and aftersales cashiers on daily transactions and reconciliations.
  • Support the Chief Accountant with daily operational and accounting requirements.

Documentation & Record Management

  • Assist the Chief Accountant in preparing reports, presentations, printing, and binding.
  • Manage document transmittals to various departments within the organization.
  • Monitor, track, and follow up on pending documents.
  • Maintain proper filing of important documents, including audited financial statements, agreements, and sales contracts.

Other Responsibilities

  • Handle supplier payment activities and related follow-ups.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Update the accounting system for receivables and payables.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting records and updates.
  • Assist the MIS Analyst in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare relevant accounts receivable and accounts payable reports.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by Management within the scope of the Finance Department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
