Position Summary

The General Practitioner's duties include examining patients, diagnosing common illnesses, and administering or prescribing appropriate treatment and to address patients' health-related queries.

To be part of a team providing 24 hour medical cover and immediate first line resuscitation to any hospital patient, visitor or staff member as required. To assist in the management of patients and provide back-up support to the consultant

Key Responsibilities

•         Providing skilled health assessment, diagnosis and treatment services to patients, ordering diagnostic tests as needed, checking and informing patients of results in a timely manner.

•         Deciding on the right course of action for patients and documenting all care provided and education/information given.

•         Prescribing medication as appropriate, Explain to patients details of their illness & various treatment options available to them.

•         Issuing the Sick Leaves as per the diagnosis in line with MOH guidelines and medical reports as and when needed in line with Centre’s policy.

•         Referring patients to specialized hospitals for treatment if the need exceeds the range of care available.

•         Working constructively and harmoniously with other members of the Centre to ensure patients receive optimal care.

•         Completes the patient records in HIMS system as necessary. Consult with or provide consultation to the other Doctors when needed.

•         To supervise and evaluate healthcare facility staff, to protect patients, managers ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the healthcare facility.

•         Responsible for the day to day operations of the facility, managers must secure the financial stability of the establishment.

•         Creates reports that convey the daily logistics and the long-term impacts of these daily logistics on the healthcare facility.

•         Responsible to replace failing and outdated equipment and maintain adequate amounts of healthcare supplies.

•         To collect significant data and use the data to improve patient care.

•         He must be able to make decisions to resolve problems quickly, Responsible enforce policies and oversee the staffs’ compliance to policies.

Requirements

  • Qualification: MBBS (Medicine)
  • Experience : 3+ years’ work experience in relevant field
  • Skills : Good communication skills; Analytical skills, Managerial skills, Communication, Delegation, Collaboration, Problem Solving, Stress Management.
  • Preference will be given to the MOH Oman License holders with Local Release / NOC in Oman.
