Position Summary
The role is responsible for developing product strategies, managing demand forecasting, inventory planning, pricing, market intelligence, and business planning while maintaining close coordination with OEM principals, sales, marketing, and aftersales teams.
The successful candidate will ensure that the company's product portfolio remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with changing customer and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Positioning
- Develop competitive product positioning strategies for assigned construction equipment brands.
- Build competitive model trims and product specifications suitable for local market requirements.
- Rationalize product line-up to maximize market coverage while minimizing unnecessary complexity.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking for pricing, specifications, features, and value proposition.
- Liaise with OEM principals to negotiate:
- Product pricing
- Optional equipment
- Feature additions/deletions
- Special editions
- Product customization
- Support product lifecycle management including product launches, facelifts, upgrades, and phase-outs.
2. Demand Forecasting & Inventory Management
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual demand forecasts using:
- Historical sales data
- Sales pipeline
- Market intelligence
- Customer demand trends
- Develop procurement plans based on forecasted demand.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure compliance with company inventory policies.
- Maintain optimum stock levels by planning the right mix of:
- Models
- Variants
- Specifications
- Colours
- Optional equipment
- Monitor slow-moving and ageing inventory.
- Recommend corrective actions for inventory imbalances.
- Coordinate production schedules and shipment plans with OEM principals.
3. Pricing Strategy & Commercial Management
- Conduct pricing analysis to ensure market competitiveness.
- Recommend retail pricing and promotional pricing strategies.
- Monitor profitability and gross margins.
- Negotiate pricing support, rebates, incentives, and commercial programs with OEMs.
- Prepare pricing reports for management review.
4. Market Intelligence & Business Development
- Continuously monitor:
- Market trends
- Competitor activities
- Customer buying behaviour
- Government projects
- Infrastructure developments
- Industry growth opportunities
- Identify growing and declining market segments.
- Prepare competitor benchmarking reports.
- Recommend strategies to:
- Increase market share
- Improve profitability

5. Marketing Campaign Coordination
- Coordinate with the Marketing Department for:
- Product launches
- Exhibitions
- Roadshows
- Product demonstrations
- Digital campaigns

- Ensure marketing campaigns are executed according to approved plans.
- Measure campaign effectiveness and ROI.
- Collect customer feedback and recommend improvements.
6. Business Planning & OEM Coordination
- Prepare Annual Business Plans (BP).
- Monitor business performance against approved targets.
- Prepare monthly business review reports covering:
- Sales
- Market Share
- Profitability
- Inventory
- Forecast Accuracy
- Pricing
- Maintain excellent relationships with OEM principals.
- Represent the company during OEM meetings and quarterly business reviews.
- Ensure company interests are professionally represented with principals.
7. Product Training & Sales Enablement
- Develop product training materials.
- Conduct regular training sessions for:
- Sales Consultants
- Product Specialists
- Dealer Sales Teams
- Train teams on:
- Product features
- Technical specifications
- Competitive positioning
- Sales arguments
- Support field visits and product demonstrations whenever required.
8. Reporting & Business Analytics
- Prepare MIS reports covering:
- Sales Analysis
- Inventory Reports
- Forecast Accuracy

- Develop dashboards using Excel, ERP systems, and Power BI (preferred).
- Present management reports and strategic recommendations.
