Position Summary
Seeking an academic position as a Lecturer in the field of Engineering. Perform research, including teaching courses and supervising students in their academic assignments and research work. Proficiency in computer-aided teaching.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop courses in your specialization and participate in departmental curriculum and program development.
· Assess student performance in adherence to departmental guidelines and make recommendations for advanced coursework based on student ability.
· Advise students in the major, mentoring students who are completing their final projects, and providing career guidance to those determining their major or specialization.
· Hold regular weekly office hours and ensure students know when and where you are available to answer questions and offer guidance.
· Serve on department committees as assigned by the department head and help ensure all committee goals are met promptly.
· Participate in university recruitment at high school college fairs and help entice the best students to apply to our university.
· Conduct ongoing research in mechanical engineering and publish results in the current professional literature.
· Provide students with academic and career advice.
· Design and prepare course materials, including syllabi, handouts, homework assignments, and exams.
· Develop and deliver lectures on mechanical engineering topics.
· Actively engage in student recruitment, course registration, and appropriate placement procedures.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Engineering (Electricals & Electronics - Control Systems / Communications / GCR / Electrical & Electronics / Computers & Software Engineering / Electrical & Electronics (Optoelectronic / Fiber Optic) / Communication / Satellite Communication).
- Ph.D. Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred) / Fellowship of the HE Academy or equivalent fellowship internationally accredited (preferred) / Chartered Engineers (CEng) / Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or similar institution internationally accredited (preferred).
- Working Knowledge of C++, Python, Java, Databases, etc.
- 5 – 9 years of teaching experience at the college level (at least half of the experience is after the qualification).
- Significant academic track record.
