Position Summary

  • Teach and supervise students using lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory workshop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments, and independent or group projects. Develop curriculum and prepare to teach materials and course outlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and supervise students using lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory workshop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments, and independent or group projects.
  • Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and course outlines.
  • Prepare, administer and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress.
  • Provide consultation services to government, business, or other organizations.
  • Provide individual tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it.
  • Supervise independent or group projects, field placements, laboratory work, or hands-on training.
  • Develop curriculum for new engineering courses in Engineering.
  • Develop program and course-level assessments aligned with ABET accreditation standards.
  • Facilitate learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry-level positions.
  • Creates a positive learning environment.
  • Monitors, assesses, and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance.
  • Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction.
  • Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within the assigned course of instruction.
  • Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners.
  • Leads the process of maintaining equipment and recommends new equipment purchases within the assigned program.
  • As a part of a team, designs and develops a new curriculum within the assigned program.
  • Provides support, coaching, and guidance to faculty members.
  • Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering / Science or equivalent qualifications (Electricals & Electronics - Control Systems / Computers & Software Engineering / Manual Skills / Vehicle / Safety Engineering (All Pathways)
  • Chartered Engineers (CEng) / Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or similar institution internationally accredited (Preferred).
  • Working Knowledge of C++, Python, Java, Databases, etc.
  • 5 years of experience at the college level (at least half of the experience is after the qualification).
