Position Summary

  • Seeking an academic position as a Lecturers – Mechanical (Aeronautical Engineering Department). Perform research, including teaching courses and supervising students in their academic assignments and research work. Proficiency in computer-aided teaching.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop courses in your specialization and participate in departmental curriculum and program development.
  • Assess student performance in adherence to departmental guidelines and make recommendations for advanced coursework based on student ability.
  • Advise students in the major, mentoring students who are completing their final projects, and providing career guidance to those determining their major or specialization.
  • Hold regular weekly office hours and ensure students know when and where you are available to answer questions and offer guidance.
  • Serve on department committees as assigned by the department head and help ensure all committee goals are met promptly.
  • Design and prepare course materials, including syllabi, handouts, homework assignments, and exams.
  • Develop and deliver lectures on Aeronautical Engineering topics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering) / Diploma in Engineering in relevant field / an aircraft apprenticeship or formal aircraft engineering training that covers the EASA modules within the scope of instruction.

  • Hold an EASA Part 66 Basic license or license issued by an ICAO contracting state or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of industry experience working in a technical capacity in an aircraft maintenance (Military/Civil) or maintenance training environment out of which minimum 2 years with instructional experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Military/Civil aviation environment (aeronautical maintenance) or acceptable equivalent; the experience must be representative of the subject(s) to be taught.
  • Experience in EASA Part 66 course design and development. Basic Knowledge on EASA part 147 will be an added advantage.
  • Qualification certificate in teacher training or an instructional techniques course or documentary evidence of approved or accepted Instructor status issued by the competent authority of an ICAO contracting state or by an organization approved by such a competent authority
  • Excellent organization, communication, computer operations, leadership and team building skills.
  • A research doctorate or equivalent in Aerospace/Mechanical/Systems Engineering or related field.
  • A background and demonstrated teaching capability in some, but not necessarily all of the following fields: aerospace propulsion; aircraft performance; aircraft stability and control; aircraft design; aircraft systems and avionics.
  • A developing research record including scholarly publications in academic journals.
